Lift Sharing 1 Year, 3 Months ago Karma: 0
Hi,
I am looking for a lift from the Preston/lancaster area up to the course on the 21st. I will more than happily give some money towards petrol, and will even try and provide some interesting conversation!

Does anyone think they can help? Just reply to the message on the forum and we can take it from there.
Cheers
Paul

Hello Paul,
Sorry I can't help with the lift as I live in Grange-Over-Sands, but I'm looking forward to meeting everyone (6 of us I believe) & having a great course together.
I thought it might be a good idea to try & get to know each other a bit before the course, so I'll start the ball rolling. I'm a Voluntary Instructor at Humphrey Head Outdoor Ed Centre (where I'm known as 'Wolfy' nr Grange in the S Lakes, a year into the process of changing career to Outdoor Adventure & Education.
Almost all of my log book is in The Lakes & I know I have a lot to learn. I'm 54 (I feel about 24 in my head, but the body sometimes lets me down ) married with 2 youngish children 11 (Will) & 9 (Anna) & 3 grown up from a previous marriage.
I've just got my BCU Level 1 Coach, & I've just scratched the surface of SPA- 2 days in Borrowdale. A bit to do before I'm a crag rat.....
Look forward to meeting you on 21st,
Peter

Thanks for the reply peter-just doing my bit to save the planet? I too consider myself a late starter at 46 yrs. However I have been walking a few years now and just thought it was about time to take my hobby a stage further.
Regards
Paul

Hi Paul,
46, you're a youngster!
I've just realised, I'm 55, not 54, another birthday just over a month ago (another senior moment...).
Anyone fancy a mountain day before the course? I'm going to try & get out the next 2 Sundays,
Regards,
Peter

Hi,
I am coming to the ML course on Sunday 21st from Durham so also cannot offer a lift. It was good to hear from participants though before we start. I did the Apex training 4 years ago in the Dales and think it is now about time to take it further.
Looking forward to meeting you
Ed Wood
